| 14th January 2007 - Swadlincote Ghost Walk On a dry but cold evening the first Swadlincote Ghost Walk of 2007 took place. Our base for the evening was the Belmont club based close to the main street. The ghost walk evenings are a relaxed affair and the team are able to be more flexible with the timetables, everyone was able to settle and the team began a presentation at 7:50 lead by Simon. Although there were less members in the audience than at one of the main investigations they were an engaging group asking questions and taking part in our “Is it Paranormal” quiz. After the presentation finished a large buffet was spread out for all to enjoy. In a new twist to the night the team played part of the soon to be released DVD in the background while audience members enjoyed a varied buffet and the opportunity to chat to members of the team. The audience also had a unique chance to shape the DVD itself by providing much valued comments to make the finished article even better. Forum members SPIRichard, Griffydam, Gold Seraph and Tech Noir were among those present. The tour of the town began at 9:10pm lead by Steve who has some of the best knowledge about Swadlincote and has investigated many of the buildings and shops. This knowledge ranges from the history of the buildings and what they once were to experiences of hostel spirits within well known shops. We returned to Base
after 10pm and again the audience were given the chance to ask questions
and generally chat with the team. The SPI team are always willing to
give there time to share their experiences and listen to what people
have to tell them. The Swadlincote Ghost Walks are an ideal opportunity
to meet the team and share knowledge and experiences and we welcome
everyone to join us on the next tour of the town. |
