Following our meal Stephen and Vince interviewed the Landlord and Landlady to identify what problems they have been encountered. They mentioned that there has always been a strange atmosphere in the toilet area, around the pool table, by means of people visiting the premises have commented on feeling as though they are being watched when in the toilets & what can only be described as poltergeist activity in the kitchen, with kitchen utensils flying off shelves and items being thrown across the room, on the landing area of the attached accommodation, which is where the landlord and his family live on several occasions 3 spirits have been seen by various family members, two have entered the bedroom & one seems to stay only be able to traverse the landing area, intimidating family members during the night.

Upon our arrival Diane commented that there was an uneasy atmosphere to the location, which seemed to confined to two locations, the toilet area and kitchens. In our baseline tests we noted an average temperature throughout the location was 21 degrees and the humidity level maintained around 75%. The reported spiritual activity was occurring on a regular basis & was not affected by the moons cycle or weather conditions. There are 5 family members living on the location, Mum, Dad & three children and a pet dog. We set up our base of operations in the dining area of the pub, in that location we set up a laptop which was linked to two wireless night vision camera’s one of the camera’s was situated on a shelf at the side of a

We set up our base of operations in the dining area of the pub, in that location we set up a laptop which was linked to two wireless night vision camera’s one of the camera’s was situated on a shelf at the side of a TV and was aimed towards the toilet area and the other was placed on top of a cigarette machine, all the lights, and electrical appliances capable of being switched off were switched off throughout the investigation, to prevent any interference with the camera’s. A group of staff from the pub sat up at the computer to monitor events unfolding. Phil Whyman went with Simon, Steve, Amy, Vince, Richard and Diane round to sit in the area adjacent the toilet block. Diane sat just outside the entrance to the toilets and picked up on two children, a boy and a girl, at this time Simon recorded the temperature drop of 7 degrees centigrade.

Prior to Diane mentioning the visitation of the spirits the surface temperature was steady at 21.5 degrees and during the presence of the spirit it dropped to 16.5 degrees. This encounter continued for approximately 5 minutes & was experienced by 4 of the crew who all ventured into the area and held their hand out and commented on being able to feel the temperature variation, which was isolated to one spot. Diane said that she felt the presence of a dark energy, which was down the corridor that led to the toilets, so Steve & a member of staff from the pub went down into the toilets to see if they could see anything. After about 5 minutes or so, Steve & the member of staff came out of the toilets and said that there seemed to be a very strong energy which made them feel light headed and Steve said that he got pushed from behind. Diane & Steve went back into the toilet area & herd the sound of a punch to the wall & stamping feet. It startled everyone in the area. Literally a few seconds after, the night vision camera that was situated by the TV and pointing towards the toilet area was knocked off its shelf. Several of the people attending the investigation commented at this point in time that they were being made to feel unwell with nausea and light headed.

This shelf was approximately 8ft above ground level & the mains cable supplying the unit was at the back of the TV. The shelf was fastened to a brick wall and the floor surrounding it was concrete & no crew or staff from the location was anywhere near it at the time. We are unable to ascertain how this could have logically been knocked off. There was also a lip surrounding the edge of the shelf, so there was also no chance of the camera just falling off on its own accord. Diane and Simon went into the area to see if they could identify what exactly was causing these phenomena. Upon entering the area Diane immediately picked up on the presence of a dark energy that she said didn’t have any

 form, well not a complete form. It had a head and shoulders but no lower half of the body. Diane believed that this energy was that of a male spirit and he was responsible for allot of poltergeist activity that was occurring. We were not able to isolate this spirit to establish communication with it. So we were not able to establish the reason behind his presence. He seemed to leave the area and venture back into the pub. It was at this time, the people watching the image being transmitted back to the laptop commented on seeing a dark shadow walk towards the camera and as it got

closer, this camera also got knocked off its perch. The cigarette machine that this camera was situated on was concrete, although the camera was head height; there was no one in the vicinity at the time that it got knocked off. The nearest person was approximately 20 foot away. 

We never experienced any further activity in connection to the spirits that we picked up. The crew started to disperse at approximately 1am leaving just Simon, Amy and Chris left representing the crew. Chris, Amy and the staff from the pub totalling around 10 people asked if it would be possible to attempt glass divination. Simon sat everyone down around one of the tables and placed a single wine glass in the centre, asking everyone to place a finger on the glass. When we asked for any spirits present with us to show their presence by moving the glass on the table, it started to move almost straight away. In order to prevent any individual attempting contaminating the information we were receiving, we had the lady that the information was coming in for to remain as one of the participants & asked all but two others to remove their fingers from the glass leaving a total of 3 people touching the glass. Then we rotated the two additional people with the additional people seated around the table with every question. Even doing so the information continued to come through, answering the questions that were asking. Due to the sensitivity of the questions, the spirits identity & the connection it had to one of the people seated at the table, it was decided that the information would remain confidential and we would be unable to disclose much of the information we were able to gather. 

The individual did agree to the following information to be released & used by Swadlincote Paranormal Investigations exclusively. The spirit that was with us was that of an elderly male aged between 58 and 68 and was related to the one of the females who was sat at the table. He didn’t have a specific message to pass on, other than there was going to be a significant event that was going to occur in her life within the next six months involving property that would have an affect to her life and that there was other members of her family that would be involved in this event. It was also disclosed that this event was not one to be concerned about as the effect on the individual was going to be positive. It was at this stage that the individual requested that we were not going to pursue further information from this spirit due to the sensitivity and Simon believed that if the woman wanted to pursue further information, it should be done on a one to one basis, so Simon closed the session and said a closing prayer.  

Simon, Chris and Amy packed away the remainder of the equipment and the staff from the pub commented that they thought the atmosphere within the building had changed and seemed allot lighter and more friendly. Even the toilets and surrounding area seemed allot more friendly.  

Due to the unrest of the spiritual activity within the premises, Simon, Steve and Diane were asked to return to conduct a final clearance, leaving the premises and family with conclusion following a rather unsettling period.
